Avery dear friend who has a serious illness made me some beautiful jewellery. She took photos of it before sending it to me.

I was at the shop when the postman delivered last Thursday, so he left the parcel

The only people who know where to leave parcels are delivery men if no one is at home.

He left a note through the door saying that he had left it in the normal place.

When I got home just after 2pm there was no sign of the package.

Another friend had a class here that morning and probably left here soon after noon. So the package must have gone missing between noon and 2pm.

This has really upset me in view of the time that my friend has taken to make the bracelets and necklace for me, and the necklace alone has over 1500 small glass pearls in it and took her a good 8 hours to make.

I cannot believe that there are lowlife people out there who come onto your property and steal from you. I know it goes on and I am probably naive in thinking the best of people but I would so like to find out who has taken this parcel. My retribution will be swift, sharp and painful believe me. :)

So if you see or hear of anyone in Hailsham and Polegate and surrounding areas who is selling jewellery, or see it on auction sites,  and you will see from the pictures they are one off items, then please let me know. You can email me jill@cardinalcolours.co.uk

Thank you.

Tracie Dempster, Head of Care at ChYps has asked us if we would like to take part in a card making challenge.

Together with Scrapology, Tracie has supplied the basic materials for making a daffodil sympathy card. The Chyps Team want to send out a card to families after the death of the child they have cared for. The team would like these cards to have some similarities and so the card blank, envelope, printed insert, some digital cardstock (for stamping) and the daffodil stamp have all been supplied together with Stazon or Memento Ink (for stamping). After that how you colour your image or decorate your card is up to you!

What Chyps would like you to do is take a set of these materials and make a card to donate back to them to use, there will be a prize for the best card too.

The materials will be available at the next few Scrapology Club nights and also at the Cardinal Colours Weekend Crop. You are welcome to make one or more, just ask Lynn.  If you can't get to these events but would still like to take part please just ask, state the type of ink you need your image stamped in and we will send you the necessary materials.

Woodware Stamp
So please have a think about how you would like to do this and join in the fun, helping ChYps at the same time.

Many thanks.

Here is a sneak peek at the classes planned by Anita, Jill, Linda and Lynn for the Autumn weekend crop. We have a Christmas card class, three layouts, a framed layout and a treasure box.

First up on Saturday morning is this layout class 'Let It All Hang Out!' by Anita Macdonald:

Anita's class uses acetate and fabulous papers from Simple Stories 'Vintage Bliss' range. Create an eye catching layout with a difference, based on a sheet of framed acetate embellished with multiple photos, paper embellishments, crystals, gems and mini clothes pegs.

The page will suit various photos, Anita has used three, they are each 2.5" square. These can be interchangeable at any point as they are simply held in place by the mini pegs.

This is followed by Lynn Cooper's Snowflake and Christmas layouts class:

A layout class to make not one but two layouts using Bazzill in four colours and papers from Bo Bunny's 'Mistletoe' collection and My Mind's Eye 'Winter Wonderland' collection.

Create a layout for winter in white, and shades of blue and one for a Christmas photo in traditional reds, whites and greens.

These layouts use several embellishments including glass, gems, twine ribbon and glitter glue.

Dig out you Christmas, winter and snow photos for this one, Lynn used a 4" wide x 6" tall photo for each page. Colour or black and white pictures would work equally well.

Glitter glue is included in your kit.

After lunch we move on to Linda Fitzsimmon's 'So Happy' Layout class:

Join Linda to create a fun layout with buttons, gems and lots of die cut and punched shapes. Suitable for all occasions, the colours are fresh and zingy.

Uses a black and white 4" x 4" photo, but will work with other sizes and colour.

In the evening have '12 Days of Christmas' Card making class with Lynn Cooper.

Create a card for each of the first five days of Christmas in class, with instructions to make others up to twelve later.

Traditional Christmas colours and 6" x 6" cards blanks and envelopes together with Bo Bunny's 'Mistletoe' 6" x 6" papers in 12 designs. Die cut images, Bazzill cardstock in several colours, tiny letter stickers, gems, pearls, ribbon, twine and more.

Start Sunday off by decorating a 'Treasure Box' in a class with Jill and Angie.

Decorate an MDF treasure box (approx. 16cm x 12cm x 6cm), using My Mind's Eye 'Lost and Found3' papers. There is a choice of Ruby (red) or Oliver (blue).

We will be making roses from cardstock colouring them with Promarkers, and embellishing the box with various charms. The box will be lined with felt.

There are only six kits of each colour, so please state your choice when booking.

Then last but not least on Sunday is Linda's framed page class 'A Little Box of Love'.

Create a framed page approx. 9" square. Lots of hearts in beautiful soft pastel shades. Perfect for the love(s) in your life. Box frame is included in the kit.

Email HERE for further details of classes, or Jill for booking onto the weekend (there is an earlier post with details on this blog. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer, pay pal or cash at the weekend, but booking essential to avoid disappointment. Classes are all priced at £12.50.

If you are not attending the weekend, but are interested in any of the kits, please contact us and we will keep a reserve list for any kits left over after the weekend.

First of all, I want to once again thank all those who attended any of  the previous three weekends for taking part in the raffles we have held for CHYPS (hospice-at-home care for children and young people). You have all been very generous in providing prizes and buying tickets. We have so far raised a total of £543!

A very big thank you also to Jill for providing the main prizes each time. Last year we were lucky enough to have had a Big Shot Starter Kit won by Adele, then a Bind -It-All won by Mel. In spring this year Maureen won an Ultimate Pro Scoreboard.

This year Jill has kindly offered a Cuttlebug as the main prize.

We are busy gathering prizes together again for another go at the crop weekend in September. If you have anything you would like to donate - please bring it along with you, together with some money for raffle tickets.

You can read more about the charity by clicking on the word 'CHYPS'

Thank you
Lynn
